A direct cremation is a simple cremation without a service or mourners present. Your loved one is cared for with dignity, the cremation takes place, and the ashes are either returned to you or scattered, depending on your wishes. Many families choose this option because it allows them to say goodbye in their own way and at a time that feels right.
A direct cremation does not include a service or attendance at the crematorium. Instead, it gives families the freedom to remember and say goodbye in their own way, wherever and whenever feels most meaningful.
Our direct cremation costs start from £1,145, with no hidden fees. The price includes collection from a hospital, care, cremation, and the provision or scattering of ashes. Optional extras, such as hand delivery of ashes, are also available.
All cremations are carried out at one of Memoria crematoria across the mainland UK. While it may not always be the nearest to your home, you can be assured the same high standard of care at every location.
After the cremation, we can return the ashes to you, arrange hand delivery for an additional cost, or scatter them in the crematoria’s gardens of remembrance. We’ll discuss the options with you so you can choose what feels most meaningful.
